Hi there, I'm Sophie
Project manager. Parent. Expat currently based in Paris, France.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a fresh chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to France wasn't in the cards for the long run. Like many expatriate moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were intense — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Daily chores seemed more complex than expected.
The Transition Phase
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet over time, routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Created Rosy Garden Leaf
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in France.
What This Site Covers (And What It Doesn’t)
This site is about:
- Practical experience from living in France
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site is not:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in France continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, please feel free to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sophie
